A two hour workshop to chart the course for your boundaries journey.
During this session, you’ll get guidance and group support to actively show up for yourself in this work of Setting, Holding and Respecting boundaries.
For weeks, I’ve been sharing what I know about Boundaries on Instagram. I’m starting to get the feeling that people want a quick fix or some magic formula for making it happen overnight. So, here it is:
Integrity + Self Advocacy = Boundaries
But it is neither quick nor magical.
We have been taught by dominant structures in society that personal boundaries make for poor character. Organized religion, patriarchy, white supremacy - they all impress upon us that in order to be NICE, KIND, MANNERABLE, PROFESSIONAL, PIOUS or SPIRITUAL, you can’t speak up for yourself. You have to take whatever behavior give you, keep smiling and remember to give all you can and expect nothing in return.
As people begin to search for healthier ways of being, it can sometimes result in a swing in the opposite direction. As we begin to clarify our own boundaries, we may violate the boundaries of others.
In this workshop, we’ll go deeper into the concepts that I’ve shared over the past few weeks. You’ll have space to really consider how they affect your life and identify a path forward for yourself.
I’ll share what I’ve learned on my journey, a host of other resources and make space for you to ask specific questions that help identify where you may be stuck.
Together, we’ll un-learn what doesn’t serve us and take practical steps to SET, HOLD and RESPECT boundaries.
Topics of discussion:
Visioning - What's your goal, Why are you doing this work, how does it align with your values?
Forgiveness Practice - for yourself and others.
Body Knowledge - Why not having boundaries is SO exhausting and how you can listen to the messages you receive.
What to do with that one person that just refuses to respect your boundaries.
How to teach your friends and family about this Boundary work. (Hint: Don’t)
You’ll also get a printable journal as a companion to the experience and a list of resources that I’ve found helpful on this journey.
If you’re ready to take an active role and change the way that you experience boundary setting, join me. Show up ready to work. Bring a notebook, a bottle of water, a cup of tea. But most of all, bring your undivided attention.
If you are a person who wants to participate, but cannot afford it, click here to submit your info. There is no lengthy process, you do not need to justify it. Just give me your name and a way to get in touch with you and I’ll let you know if someone donates a spot.
